Topics
Because there's a lot of ground to cover, we've set up a series of topic teams to look at different aspects of Thatcham, draw together the results of the public consultation exercises we're running and identify actions which need to be taken by others as well as projects which could be initiated by the community.
The first group of topic teams are looking at:
- the town centre
- youth provision
- development, sustainability and the environment
- social and community development
- senior citizens' needs
- homes and housing
- lifelong learning, and
- antisocial behavoiur and crime
These teams have now all identified possible goals, actions and projects and these are being researched and refined prior to publication of the Thatcham Vision's first action plan in mid-January 2007.
There are, of course, many other topics which affect the community's wellbeing and new teams will be set up after the first plan is produced to look at topics like:
- health and wellbeing
- homes and housing
- child-care
- education
