Thatcham Vision dedicated to environmental and ecological issues in the parish of Thatcham. We are a small group of volunteers who care
about the Thatcham, its ecology and environment.

We are involved in promoting and monitoring the ecology and the environment of Thatcham with key objectives of:
- Ensure public bodies demonstrate environmental leadership and environmental responsibility while businesses and residents take actions to reduce their impacts on the environment,
- Minimise Thatcham's contribution to climate change,
- Protect water resources, rivers and streams and, where they are degraded, ensure that they are restored,
- Ensure that Thatcham's biodiversity and countryside are protected from adverse change and, where appropriate, restored or enhanced,
- Ensure that a sufficient number of quality accessible green spaces in the urban area are provided and maintained for public enjoyment and informal recreation,
- Minimise the export of waste to landfill produced by Thatcham residents, businesses and public authorities,
- Ensure that the urban environment is attractive and pleasant while being functional,
- Ensure adverse impacts, on the night sky and residential properties, and from urban lighting are minimised,
- Odour originating from Newbury Sewage Treatment Works is negligible and much reduced in comparison to the situation in 2005.
- Provide a Make Thatcham Green Officer
- Raise Environmental Standard of Council run Buildings
- Provide Carbon Reduction & Green learning resources for Schools
- Organise showings of An Inconivenient Truth
- Advocate sustainable water usage for new planning applications
- Assess impact of closed Landfill sites
- Develop a Vision for the Countryside of the Parish
- Maintain Green Gaps between parishes
- Conduct assessment of Hedgrows, Woodlands & Veteran Trees
- Develop a Green Space Strategy & Action Plan
- Provide at least 100 more Allotments
- Monitor West Berks Wast & Recycling policy
- Improve Recycling facilities
